The three labels were purchased through PostDanmark website and sent to a given address. Each of the label carry a value of 1 kr.

Franking labels are self-adhesive. The three new franking labels on the theme of Danish birds was issued on 5 September 2012.

 

Following the magnificent series begun in 2011, which shows different species of birds that breed in Denmark, the motifs series of 2012 is dedicated to the family of finches.

 

European Greenfinch - Grønirisk in Danish (Carduelis chloris)

Bullfinch - Dompap in Danish (Pyrrhula pyrrhula) 

Hawfish - Kernebider in Danish (Coccothraustes coccothraustes)

The label rolls are manufactured by the company Ganket A/S using thermal adhesive paper.

 

The way that franking labels work, is that you choose the value which is then printed on the label. The illustrations are printed sequentially, so you cannot choose the motifs yourself. As this series only have 3 different designs, choosing 3 labels, will spit all 3 designs.

 

The franking labels can be ordered in values from DKK 0.25 up to DKK 99.75 at increments of DKK 0.25 therefore these labels can be found bearing 398 different values.

ATM - Automatenmarken, a German word for automatic stamps. ATM is a variable value stamp with indefinite validity upon purchased. It normally vend by machine to spit stamps and franked on a label with amount specified by buyer. Therefore a single design can accommodate any value required.
