ARCH OF VILLALAR
The Arco de Villalar in Baéza, Jaén, is an arch built to commemorate the battle of Villalar in the province of Valladolid in 1521, when the royal army overcame the Comuneros (communities) of Castile. The Puerta de Jaén, rebuilt in 1526, stands next to it.
The stamp used was part of annual release of 'Gates & Arches Issues' which are issued every January.
