London Olympic 2012 - Team GB Gold Medal Winners (Set of 29)
London Olympic 2012

This is a set of 29 Team GB Gold Medal Winner cut from original self-adhesive Miniature Sheets (6 stamps on each sheet).

Every Team GB Gold Medal win, whether by an individual or a team, was featured on a separate commemorative Miniature Sheet comprising six Special Stamps. Names, disciplines and sport details appear in the border, together with the official Team GB logo.

Each set was issued on the day after the medal was won. This will be the first time any host country has used action shots for Gold Medal stamps and issued them next day, during the Games.

The self-adhesive miniature sheet is designed by True North and Royal Mail. The template (base sheets) were printed under the control ('Under the Control of' may mean that Walsall and Cartor will both be printing the base sheet, or that either company will print the entire stock.) of Walsall Security Print, but the digital overprint was applied overnight by 6 regional printers, at Preston, Edinburgh, Solihull, Swindon, Attleborough, and London. The printing is in lithography, with a digital overprint of the winner's image and winner and event details. The phosphor is placed on the stamp avoiding the image area and the lower-right corner where the winners' details are digitally overprinted.

A single stamp is for 1st Class mail and the value is 60p and each single one is 47 x 29 (mm).
