SERI PADUKA BAGINDA YANG DI-PERTUAN AGONG KE XI
SULTAN SALAHUDDIN ABDUL AZIZ SHAH
Alat kebesaran Melayu yang sangat dimuliakan ialah Keris dan KERIS PANJANG DIRAJA adalah alat kebesaran Negara yang utama dalam istiadat pertabalan. Keris Panjang Diraja adalah Keris Kerajaan dan adalah sebagai tanda kebesaran dan kekuasaan. Keris ini, daripada hulunya hingga ke sarungnya bersalut dengan emas dan diatas sampirnya diterapkan dengan lambang Kerajaan Persekutuan dan lambang sebelas Negeri Tanah Melayu. Matanya ditempa daripada besi waja yang diambil dari sebelas bilah keris daripada Negeri-Negeri itu. Hulu keris ini hanya dibawa oleh Seri Paduka Baginda Yang di-Pertuan Agong dalam istiadat-istiadat tertentu sahaja.
KERIS PENDEK DIRAJA adalah diperbuat daripada mata keris lama lama dengan berhulu dan bersarungkan gading yang bertatahkan emas. Hulu keris ini dinamakan 'Hulu Perkakak' dan berupa kepala 'Garuda'. Di sampir keris ini diterapkan dengan lambang kerajaan Persekutuan. Keris ini islah salah satu pakai kebesaran Diraja.
A much respected item of the Malay regalis is the Kris and the most significant in the Installation ceremony is the KERIS PANJANG DIRAJA (Kris of State). It symbolises power and authority. Gided throughout, it has the Federation Crest as well as the crests of the eleven States of Malaya engraved on the sheath. The blade is made from steel taken from krises origination from these states. The hilt shaped like 'Tapak Kuda' of hoof of a horse is decorated with the Jering fruit motif. It is carried only by His Majesty.
The KERIS PENDEK DIRAYA (Short Kris) is made from steel of the blades of olden krises and has an ivory hilt and sheath. THe hilt is called 'Hulu Perkakak' and shaped like the head of the legendary 'Garuda'. The sheath is decorated in gold with the Federation Crest embossed on the cross piece. It is part of the personal regalia of His Majesty.
