The Great Stamp Shortage in Malaya

The Great Stamp Shortage in Malaya (1899-1901) occured in Malaya States (Perak and Selangor) due to insufficient stamps available for usage. Stamps were cancelled for the value of 1¢ and 3¢ to cover normal postage for postcard and letter, respectively.

The original stamp was issued in 1896. Cancelled by two thin bars and overprinted 'Three Cent.'
