The PAM label can be used at any time after purchased, not necessary must be used at the same day and at GPO only.
Thermal paper is being used, whereas laser beam is used to create the printing on the paper. In addition, PAM are self-adhesive hence provides great convenience. Some info on the 13 digits at the bottom of the denomination:

POS MALAYSIA LAUNCHES SELF-SERVICE-TERMINAL AND MOBILE POST OFFICE
KUALA LUMPUR, Monday – Pos Malaysia today unveiled the Pos-Automated-Machine (PAM) and Pos-on-Wheels (Mobile Post Office). PAM is currently available at the Kuala Lumpur General Post Office (KL GPO), whilst Pos-on-Wheels will keep moving to selected locations in KL. Both services will be extended throughout the country in stages.
PAM is essentially a self service terminal. It is similar to a bank’s ATM machine but the first of its kind that is integrated with postal services. PAM offers the following services:
· Purchase of stamp label
· Posting of Non-Standard Letter (up to 2kg)
· Posting of domestic PosLaju items (up to 2 kg)
· Posting of domestic PosParcel and PosDaftar items (up to 2 kg)
· Top-up for Standing Order Deposit Account (SODA) – Stamps and Philately
· Bill payment for various agencies (at the moment restricted to Tenaga Nasional Berhad, Telekom Malaysia, Syabas, Indah Water Konsortium and Maxis)
During this familiarization stage, the operation hours for PAM shall be from 6:00 am to 11:30 pm daily (Monday to Sunday). In due course this shall be made available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We plan to deploy another 30 units of PAM during the year 2010.
Post-on-Wheels offers the range of services that is similar to a normal post office, such as:
- Purchase of stamps
- Bill payments
- Posting of domestic PosParcel and PosDaftar items
- Purchase of Postal Order & Money Order
- International Money transfer services
- Posting of domestic PosLaju items
- Insurance – Motor/Non-motor
- Renewal of Road tax/driving licence and Amanah Saham unit trusts (future services upon receiving the approval from JPJ & PNB)
We are proud to announce that Pos-on-Wheels will now be able to conduct online transactions. This is due to the usage of satellite connectivity. We plan to deploy another 7 units during the year 2010.
The Group Managing Director/ CEO of Pos Malaysia Berhad, YBhg. Dato’ Syed Faisal Albar commented that “Pos-on-Wheels will enable us to have wider customer coverage (the mobile unit can visit a few places within a day), whilst PAM enhances convenience since services are available after office hours”.
The capabilities of PAM and Pos-on-Wheels were demonstrated at the KL GPO this morning by the Chairman of Pos Malaysia, Tan Sri Dato’ Seri (Dr.) Aseh Che Mat.
