The new portrait of Carol I was sculpted by an%26nbsp%3B%3Cem%3EA. SCHARFF%3C/em%3E%26nbsp%3Bwhose name featured below. In 1894%2C 600%2C000 were issued. The coin%26%2339%3Bs next strike was 1900%2C and 3.838 million were minted in%26nbsp%3BHamburg%2C%26nbsp%3BGermany. These coins%2C and the 194%2C205 struck at the same city in the following year%2C had a wider diameter at 18.5mm.%3Csup%3E%5B4%5D%3C/sup%3E%3C/p%3E%0A%0A%3Cp%3EThe fifth coin of the denomination had a minting run from 1910 to 1914 %28excluding 1913%29. It maintained the 18mm diameter of the previous fifty-bani coins and kept the same composition. The coins were minted at Brussels and Hamburg%2C the difference being that the Brussels-struck coins had 101 reeds on the edge compared to 120 from Hamburg. A new sculptor%2C Tasset%2C put his name beneath the portrait of Carol I on the obverse. The reverse featured the crown of Romania above olive branches%2C with the country%26%2339%3Bs name on the left%2C the denomination on the right and the date below. Although not a member of the%26nbsp%3BLatin Monetary Union%2C Romania agreed to its weights and measured which aimed to create a universal currency around Europe. The fifty-bani of 1910-1914 shares many similarities with the French %26frac12%3B Franc of the same time.%3C/p%3E%0A%0A%3Cp%3EA sixth fifty-bani was minted exclusively in 1921%2C with 30 million produced in%26nbsp%3BLe Locle%2C%26nbsp%3BSwitzerland%26nbsp%3Bby the company Huguenin Fr%26egrave%3Bres %28brothers%29 %26amp%3B Co. The coin was 21mm in diameter with a hole in the middle%2C and weighed 1.203g due to being made entirely from%26nbsp%3Baluminium. The hole was 4mm or 4.5mm depending on the piece. On the obverse was the eagle from the Romanian coat of arms%2C with a%26nbsp%3BChristian%26nbsp%3Bcross in his beak%2C perched on top of the hole. The country%26%2339%3Bs name is underneath. On the reverse was the denomination%2C with the 0 in 50 surrounding the hole. The Romanian crown was placed to the right of the hole. The mintmark%26nbsp%3B%3Cem%3EHuguenin%3C/em%3E%26nbsp%3Bwas placed at the bottom of the reverse.%3C/p%3E%0A%0A%3Cp%3EAfter a monetary reform on 15 August 1947%2C 20%2C000 old lei became a new leu%2C and a fifty-bani coin was briefly re-introduced. It measured 16mm in diameter and weighed 1.7g. The coin was made of 80%25 copper%2C 19%25 zinc and 1%25 nickel. Its obverse featured the Romanian crown in the centre%2C with the country name at the top and date at the bottom. The reverse featured the denomination.
