Due to an increase in postal rate 1 cent and 4 cents, stamps of Straits Settlements were used in Kedah for some months since March 1919.
New colours and values were introduced.
Double and Single Plates
(i) Printed from separate plates for frame and centre, with dotted shading extending close to the central sheaf. Soft impression of centre with little clear detail.
(ii) Printed from single plate, with white space around sheaf. Centre more deeply etched with sharp image.
